Magical Dining at Italian Classic – Rocco’s Italian Grille and Bar in Winter Park

Rocco’s Italian Grille and Bar offers a classic, romantic feel that exudes elegance.  A handsome bar and cocktail lounge offer the perfect place to enjoy the robust selection of Italian and California wines. Outside, a brick courtyard complete with fountain and hanging market lights, offers additional seating and a lovely picturesque setting. Conveniently located in Winter Park for fourteen years, you can expect authentic Italian cuisine and exceptional service.

Currently featuring the Magical Dining menu, you are able to enjoy a delicious three course meal for only $35, offering a fantastic value and a great way to enjoy this upscale-casual Italian trattoria.

Rucola E Parmigiano

We started our meal with the Rucola E Parmigiano ($9.95), a light and flavorful salad composed of fresh arugula, julienne tomatoes, and shaved Parmigiano tossed in extra virgin olive oil and lemon dressing which perfectly balanced the peppery notes of the arugula. My dining companion selected the Arancini, a crisp rice ball made of Italian Arborio rice and stuffed with peas. This was then set atop their award-winning tomato sauce and garnished with a basil leaf which added a lovely aroma.

Arancini

The star of the meal was my mouthwatering, flawlessly cooked beef tenderloin, Filetto Al Gorgonzola ($38.95) that was elevated further by the decadent and rich Gorgonzola sauce melted above it. Served alongside where oven roasted potatoes and garlicky green beans. Every bite was flavorful and sumptuous. I would definitely order this dish again – a total winner.

Filetto Al Gorgonzola

My companion’s entree was the Fish of the Day (Market Price), which happened to be the very popular European sea bass, the Bronzino. Prepared with olive oil, capers, lemon, and herbs, this light and flaky white fish was a real treat and an excellent counterpart to my steak. Also served alongside oven roasted potatoes and garlicky green beans, this dish is a classic.

Pesce del Giorno – Bronzino

For the sweet finale we order two traditional Italian desserts: the Tiramisu ($10) and the chocolate Profiterole. Each was creamy, luxurious and executed perfectly.

Profiteroles

Service was stellar and Rocco Potami himself visited our table to ensure everything was to our liking. He is exceptionally welcoming, amiable, and has a way of making you feel like family.
