The owners of Light On The Sugar, a local bakery known for their instagrammable cream puffs, macarons, cakes and coffee, have officially announced that they will be opening a sister concept, Sugar Dough Bakehouse, this summer. The new concept will specialize in made-from-scratch, Asian-inspired French pastries along with house-brewed coffee and teas, and is expected to open some time after the fourth of July.
With the help of brothers Jimmy and Johnny Tung, Yixi and Wen will be bringing Sugar Dough to Audubon Park. The 1000 square-foot bake shop will be located in the space formerly occupied by Blue Bird Bake Shop at 3122 Corrine Drive next to Kelly’s Homemade Ice Cream across from East End Market. Located right next door to Foreigner, a highly-anticipated pop-up-turned-brick-and-mortar chef’s tasting concept.
Sugar Dough, founded by husband-and-wife team Yixi Qiu and Wen Pan, is meant to complement their first concept, Light on the Sugar, by offering more fresh-baked breads versus desserts. The concept will offer Japanese milk bread, savory and cream-filled croissants, danishes, cookies, Portuguese egg tarts, and le flan, a French-style custard made from sous vide egg. The bake shop will also offer cruffins (croissant muffins), and both sweet and savory cruffles, a hybrid between a croissant and a waffle. Flavors will include sesame, ube s’more, and white chocolate oreo, and creations will rotate seasonally. To wash it all down, Sugar Dough will also offer fresh fruit tea and coffee brewed in-house daily from locally-sourced roasted beans.
“We would make trips to New York just to get these Asian-style breads and pastries. We wanted to bring that experience back home with us to Orlando… open a place that offered delicious baked goods made-from-scratch that same morning. We love to eat and consider ourselves foodies so we’re very excited to be part of the growing local food community,” said co-founder Yixi Qiui.
Both originally from China, Yixi and Wen became high school sweethearts when they first met in St. Augustine in 2006. Both shared a passion for baking, a skill that was self-taught. The couple moved to Orlando, and worked in the restaurant industry for several years. Wen would often times bring home-made baked goods to share with coworkers. This hobby eventually evolved into a small business, with Light On The Sugar opening in September of 2019.
Light On The Sugar opened its doors on Aloma Avenue in Winter Park just a few months before the Covid-19 pandemic. The 900-square-foot bakery and coffee shop gained a cult-like following after a viral TikTok video, and the brand’s Instagram account quickly amassed over 10,000 followers. Light On The Sugar became known as an Instagrammer’s dream with it’s unique, highly-photogenic treats, and themed, seasonal creations like their Pokemon character macarons, and festive, matcha-flavored Grinch cream puffs. Although less sweet than their Western counterparts, the concept’s Asian-inspired pastries taste just as good as they look. Items like the light, airy cream puffs, and delicate crepe cakes are all carefully prepared in-house daily with high quality ingredients.
Despite closing for six weeks during the peak of the pandemic, Light On The Sugar has managed to thrive, and the idea of opening a sister concept came on the heels of its success.
“We’ve been fortunate enough to have the opportunity to turn our passion into a living. We couldn’t be more grateful, and are very eager to share our new creations with the Orlando community,” said Yixi.
Sugar Dough will offer delivery through UberEats and Doordash along with catering for special events.
The Krusty Krab is a fictional fast food restaurant in the American animated television series SpongeBob SquarePants. It is famous for its signature burger, the Krabby Patty, the formula to which is a closely guarded trade secret.
A recent social media post gained steam recently that said the Krusty Krab Restaurant is coming to Lakeland, Florida:
Photos from “The Krusty Krab” themed restaurant purported to be opening in Florida:
We did some digging into this to find out if and when “The Krusty Krab” will be coming to Florida.
According to the photos, the restaurant is actually named “The Rusty Krab” and does appear to be themed after the Spongebob restaurant.
However, it appears to be a Houston, Texas based pop-up bar experience at the moment (https://www.facebook.com/kefihtx/). Messages to both the original poster and the facebook page were sent to inquire about the opening in Lakeland, Florida, but no response has been given yet. Stay tuned as we will update this post once we hear back.

Getting to know a culture doesn’t really happen without sharing a meal.
FusionFest’s Diversitastic! Dining Experience is a monthly series hosted by FusionFest that offers patrons a chance to immerse themselves into exploring the tastes, sights, sounds and mindsets of another part of the world – bringing some great culinary and cultural immersions right here in Central Florida. You’ll receive a full meal, chef talk about the food and eating customs, entertainment, presentation about the culture and more. The signature event for FusionFest is on the Saturday and Sunday after Thanksgiving Day in Downtown Orlando – a free, two-day, festival that draws people from more than 110 different cultures to experience music, dance, food, visual arts, spoken word, games and interactive activities.
The hickory smoke one gets a whiff of as they enter Cecil’s Texas Style Bar-B-Q on Wednesday, July 14 at 7pm, for FusionFest’s Diversitastic! Dining Experience: Texas, is a sign of the tender brisket, pork, ribs, sausage, turkey, chicken and ham that is planned for the meal.
Some of those meats have been smoked for more than 14 hours to make them tender enough to fall apart at the touch of a fork. “Texas Bar-B-Q has to be good enough to eat without any sauce,” says Cecil’s manager. “The sauces are served on the side”, he adds.
In addition to a meal of three hand-smoked meats and several Texas-style sides, guests will be treated to a performance by renowned Cowboy Poet, Sean Sexton, who performs regularly at the National Cowboy Poetry Gathering in Elko, Nevada and has been awarded an Individual Artist’s Fellowship from the State of Florida. Other program elements will introduce attendees to aspects of life and culture unique to the state of Texas.
All-inclusive tickets for any of the monthly Diversitastic! Dining Experiences can be purchased at FusionFest.org/dining and cover the complete meal with drink and dessert, entertainment and cultural presentation, while supporting a small family-owned restaurant, food-truck or catering service.
“Getting to know a culture doesn’t really happen without sharing a meal,” says FusionFest’s Chief Instigator Terry Olson.
“That’s why FusionFest spends so much time arranging these monthly Diversitastic! Dining Experiences highlighting heritages from ten different parts of the world each year. Texas represents the North American region this year and although there are many regional specialties in our country, Texans certainly think of themselves as proud representatives of the U.S.A.”
FusionFest’s Culinary Events Curator, Maria Mancia adds, “The owner of Cecil’s was missing the slow cooked barbecue of his home state when he moved to Orlando several decades ago, so he opened the restaurant in order to get a meal that reminded him of his former home in Dallas. Central Floridians have been enjoying the results since 1992.”
Watch the promotional video on YouTube for a sneak peek of the event.
The remaining Diversitastic! Dining Experiences in 2021 are:
July
Wednesday, July 14: USA – Texas @ Cecil’s Texas-Style Bar-B-Q with Cowboy Poet Sean Sexton
August
Tuesday, August 17: Africa – Nigeria @ Flavors Nigerian Restaurant
September
Wednesday, September 8: Latin America – Peru @ Aji Ceviche Bar with Raymi Dance
October
Saturday, October 2: Middle East – Yemen @ Kabsah Restaurant
Shinjung Korean Restaurant, which was one of the first Korean restaurants in Orlando since 1993 recently re-opened for 50% in-door dining capacity on July 6th, 2021.
Two years ago, the restaurant sadly caught fire on the night of June 24th, 2019 and so was closed to rebuild, finally re-opening this month. The menu is currently limited but will expand in the future according to owner Michael Lee.
Here are some photos of Shin Jung pre-2019:

Bubble or “boba” tea is a tea-based drink that originated in Taiwan in the early 1980s. It most commonly consists of tea accompanied by chewy tapioca balls, but it can be made with other toppings as well. Over the past few years, there seems to have been an explosion of bubble tea shops that have opened in Orlando.
Blended Bistro & Boba is family-owned and operated Asian restaurant with two locations in Orlando. Young entrepreneur Lam Dinh, 27, and his wife run both restaurants while Lam also works full-time as an electrical engineer.
We were invited to visit their new Lake Mary store, located in Colonial Town Park, and we enjoyed our experience.
Blended Bistro & Boba offers a variety of poke, Asian cuisine, boba, and desserts so there is something for everyone’s palate.
As soon as you step into their cafe, you will immediately feel like you have walked into their home. They are passionate about what they do and it shines through every dish & cup.
The restaurant is clean and beautifully decorated with a white marble & gold theme.
Here are our favorite menu offerings at Blended Bistro & Boba:

Last week on June 22, 2021, Bruce Woodburn was issued a trespass warning by Winter Park police officers at Hillstone restaurant in Winter Park, known for their spectacular sunset lakeside views and grilled artichoke appetizers.
The alleged disturbance that warranted this trespass order and visit from the Winter Park Police Department? Trying to order a salad “to-go” – and thus lighting off what has now become known as “Saladgate” on social media including quite a few memes as well as some humorous signage from other restaurants.
Although Hillstone has offered to-go salads in the past and continue to do takeout for certain items, it appears it is against their policy to have their salad to go right now.
Although Woodburn tried to order the salad at the restaurant to dine in, this request was denied by the restaurant management. The managers eventually called the Winter Park police to issue Mr. Woodburn a tresspass warning.

Chef Art Smith’s Homecomin’ can be found at Disney Springs, serving up a variety of tasty comfort food. Pride Month has many meanings for Florida native Chef Art Smith, owner of Homecomin’ Florida Kitchen & Southern Shine Bar, but inclusiveness is paramount.
“Being part of a team at the Walt Disney World Resort that welcomes guests of all genders, ethnicities and beliefs is part of the magic of the kitchen table,” said Chef Art, who has earned two James Beard Foundation Awards. “We learn so much from each other over a meal. And perhaps most important, the more we think we are different – the more in fact we are alike. We are all brothers, sisters, mothers, fathers, aunts, uncles and cousins. We raise children and we care for our families and friends. Pride Month is important for awareness in big and small ways, but we carry the message throughout the year with kindness, open minds and generous spirits.”

“It has been a long road and there is still plenty of road ahead of us to forge, and with Pride Month we keep marching forward. Because of others before us, Eddie and I are able to own and operate our restaurant living as who we are, and our staff and guests get to be in an environment that celebrates them for who they are. For Father’s Day, June 20, 2021, guests and locals visiting Four Seasons Resort Orlando can enjoy the full regular menus, plus additional food & beverage specials including the following, below.
Several chefs on their team who are dads (Executive Chef Fabrizio Schenardi, Capa Chef Gabriel Massip, and Executive Pastry Chef Rabii Saber) and we spoke to them recently about the meaning of Father’s Day below!
Fabrizio Schenardi – Executive Chef – Four Seasons Resort at Walt Disney World Resort
-Father’s day is a day to spend with your children, but also a day to remember the fathers who have done an incredible job raising children with many sacrifices and unfortunately get forgotten by society.
-I’m not the type of person who need a gift to be recognized; a simple hug from my son is the best gift!
For his ideal Father’s Day dinner:
-I would like cannelloni with sausage and spinach, bechamel and tomato sauce. Bocche di leone alle fragole, is a small pastry from the area where I’m from in Italy, made with brioches, whipped cream, strawberry.

What does Father’s Day mean to you?
Father’s day means the celebration of every dad and families.
What is on your wish list for a Father’s Day gift this year?
A new drill, the one I have isn’t working anymore!
What would you wish for to eat for your perfect Father’s Day meal?
A good roast beef and mashed potatoes like my mother makes. This represents the family weekends with my entire family back in France, with my cousins.
Rabii Saber, Executive Pastry Chef
What does Father’s Day mean to you?
Father’s Day is a special day for our family where I feel recognized for providing unconditional love, encouragement, protection, and for being simply father to my two little boys.
What is on your wish list for a Father’s Day gift this year?
I am always curious to see the cards they make, that highlight their creativity to show their love and emotions.
What would you wish for to eat for your perfect Father’s Day meal?
We have the ritual of having a dessert every day. It can range from a quick sundae to a more elaborate pie or cake. However, sometimes we just enjoy eating fruits, mangos (their favorite), strawberries or blueberries which we pick when they are in season in Florida. I grew up in Morocco, and the dessert I grew up eating the most and on a daily basis included fruits. Having the opportunity to travel, as well, helped me to discover new and exotic fruits. When I am at the market, what catches my eye the most are fruits when they are ripened, appealing or exotic. I love to help the kids discover new flavors by taking them for a trip through a dish or simply a new fruit. Last year, during the quarantine time, I made the boys many dishes. The ones that stand out and the kids still talk about and ask for constantly are mango granita for dessert, and homemade pizza baked on the grill… this would be a perfect meal to make for this special day.

I am a huge fan of what is going on lately at First Watch with their limited time, seasonal menu – especially with the re-freshed emphasis on Mexican and Tex-Mex flavors.
I fell in love a few seasons ago with their carnitas burrito, a massive and delicious burrito stuffed full of tender pork carnitas, scrambled cage-free eggs, fresh seasoned potatoes, black beans, Cheddar and Monterey Jack cheeses, and fresh avocado – it was enough to sustain me through the whole day, maybe the whole weekend. Though this dish has rotated off the menu, there’s hints of these wonderful flavors still in the new Summer menu at First Watch.
“There’s nothing like cutting into that first fresh watermelon of the summer, spending time outside with people you love and enjoying the sunshine,” said Chef Shane Schaibly, vice president of culinary strategy for First Watch. “This season, we’re bringing in things like fresh watermelon juice, summer sweet corn and fresh pineapple – some classic, high-quality ingredients that are in peak season right now. This menu really evokes a sense of nostalgia for me, and I hope our customers enjoy that too!”
First Watch’s summer menu selections are now available through August 15 and include:
– Elote Mexican Street Corn Hash – Two cage-free eggs any style atop fresh seasoned potatoes, house-roasted summer sweet corn and chorizo. Topped with fresh sliced avocado, Cheddar and Monterey Jack cheese, chipotle crema and scallions. Served with fresh lime and warm wheat- corn blend tortillas.
– Barbacoa Breakfast Tacos – Three wheat-corn tortillas with seasoned braised beef Barbacoa, scrambled cage-free eggs, scallions, melted Cheddar and Monterey Jack, chive cream, Cotija cheese, pico de gallo and fresh avocado with a side of black beans.
– Bananas Foster French Toast – Flaky hand-braided Challah bread dipped in our house-made custard and topped with fresh bananas, pecans, caramel sauce and powdered cinnamon sugar.
From the Juice Bar:
– Watermelon Wake-Up – Watermelon, pineapple, lime and mint.
First Watch’s new seasonal menu items are available to order alongside its robust menu of breakfast, brunch and lunch favorites at most locations nationwide for pickup, delivery and dine-in service. To place an order or join a digital waitlist, guests can visit FirstWatch.com or download the First Watch App available for Apple iOS and Android.
First Watch is open for breakfast, brunch and lunch seven days a week from 7 a.m. until 2:30 p.m. For more information about First Watch, its seasonal menu offerings or to find the nearest location, visit firstwatch.com.
Smokey Bones’ delivery-only burger brand, The Burger Experience, has revamped its menu with new burgers and a secret umami XTC sauce. The curated menu features five quality burgers and new crinkle cut fries, all at $6.
The five burgers include a Classic, Classic with Cheese, a Bacon Cheeseburger, Mushroom Swiss Burger, and a Green Chile Burger – all served on a grilled brioche bun. Bringing an extra zip to the burgers is the restaurant’s XTC sauce, a combination that includes umami notes of mustard, soy, and hoisin sauce for a savory and complementary taste that harkens back to the days of the original burger joints. The simplified menu allows The Burger Experience to quickly prepare the meal and get it to the curb or out the door for delivery.
“The pandemic has changed the way customers interact with restaurants with guests now increasingly relying on curbside, carryout, delivery, and third-party delivery apps,” said CEO James O’Reilly. “We believe many of these changes are going to be permanent and now is the time for us to innovate and invest. We have the operational and culinary capability to do just that, while focusing on one of American’s most beloved menu items – burgers.”
The Burger Experience operates inside Smokey Bones’ 61 locations across 16 states. Guests can order curbside pick-up or delivery via The Burger Experience website: www.burgerxorder.com, or through Uber Eats and Door Dash.
At a time when food delivery is thriving, the Fla.-based restaurant group revamped its popular burger brand after research found the off-premise burger segment was crowded with high-priced, chef-driven concepts or mainstream fast food options with few, or no options in the middle for a quality burger at a reasonable price.
“We wanted to do something different by offering a really delicious menu of burgers starting at $6 that are designed for off-premise customers only,” said O’Reilly. “The Burger Experience offers the kind of delicious burger you could easily order every week for your lunch, or order in large numbers for a group with drinks and crinkle fries. The brand is fun, relaxed and very focused on one simple thing: great burgers you can enjoy anytime and anywhere.”
The Burger Experience joins The Wing Experience, Smokey Bones’ other delivery-only brand. The Wing Experience menu offers 50 wing flavors and the same crinkle cut fries. Both The Burger Experience and The Wing Experience’s specialized menus allow the brands to focus on making the best burgers and wings in America at competitive prices.
Tasty Chomps Q and A – The Burger Experience
Tasty Chomps: How did the concept come about and what year did it begin?
The Burger Experience was first created in the Fall of 2019 in partnership with UberEats and was offered in about a dozen locations. It was expanded to all 61 locations in the Spring of 2020 along with The Wing Experience. After both virtual brands were expanded, both were also re-concepted. The Wing Experience was re-concepted for chicken wing flavor – seekers, with the tagline ‘Jumbo Wings Fifty Flavors’. The response to the reconcepting of The Wing Experience was so positive that The Burger Experience was reconcepted to ‘Chef Driven Delivery Burgers starting at $6’. Everything in the reconcept was changed, from the bun, toppings, patties, and the introduction of the new ‘XTC Experience’ burger sauce. The Burger Experience now offers five incredible delivery burgers starting at $6 and early market response has been very strong.

As Memorial Day (5/31) and National Donut Day (6/4) loom near, we thought what better way to prepare than by highlighting a local favorite that checks off both of these food items. Established in 2016, Smoke & Donuts specializes in oak-smoked bbq and handcrafted donuts, as well as scratch-made sides that pair beautifully with their carefully prepared meats. Those who frequent A la Cart Food Truck park are probably already aware of them, as Smoke and Donuts has taken up residency here, but patrons should know they have a second location in College Park specifically for catering pick up items. Tastychomps was lucky enough to get an inside peak on their catering menu, and we were not disappointed. We conveniently ordered online and picked up our order from their catering kitchen in College Park, which we brought back to A La Cart to enjoy with a fresh brew and the local ambiance.
For the catering offerings, we elected to try the Party Bundle, a combination selection that serves groups of 4 to 6. This selection included our choice of 3 meats from the S&D pits, 3 scratch sides, and 2 sauces. We also elected to try a few donuts because how could we not?
For our meat selection, we opted for the pulled pork smoked with Garlic and Apple cider jus, the pulled chicken, smoked and tossed with Alabama BBQ and spicy vinegar sauces, and my personal favorite: the beautifully marbled USDA Prime Malabar black pepper bark Brisket. Each meat was tender, flavorful, and masterfully prepared, and served in portions that are healthy enough for even the hungriest eaters.
The meat selection was balanced beautifully with the scratch made sides. These sides included lemon and garlic gremolata smashed potatoes, a street corn rice made with coriander charred poblanos, cotija cheese, grilled corn, and crema lime (think elote flavors in rice), and lastly a Mac & cheese made with white cheddar, Swiss, chihuahua and Oaxaca cheese and locally brewed lager. *chefs kiss*. It should be noted that the street corn rice is not offered at the a la cart location, but rather as a special catering menu item only.
Street Corn RiceMac & Cheese
We ended our Smoke and Donuts experience with a beautiful selection of their expertly crafted donuts. With such a wide variety, it was difficult for us to choose. We went with the Candied Lemonade, the Blueberry CinnaMom, the Maker’s Mark Bourbon and Maple Glazed, and a fan-favorite: the Salty Englishman, a makers mark bourbon and maple glazed donut topped with heath bar and sea salt. To say these were decadent is an understatement.
Background: Maker’s Mark Bourbon & Maple Glaze, Candied Lemonade. Foreground: Blueberry CinnaMom, the Salty Englishman
Smoke & Donuts is always active on social media including their facebook and instagram pages, and their menu is constantly being updated with new and exciting things their bakers and pitmasters are cooking up.
Customers should be aware that they have the catering options of either delivery or pick up, but pick up is from their College Park Location listed below.

Interview with Puff N Stuff Catering about Heirloom
Tasty Chomps: Tell us about the history of Puff N Stuff – what are some special moments/accolades from its founding that most people don’t know about?
Puff N Stuff: In 1971, Susie Dietel and her two best friends, Yuklan Laing and Gwyneth Pogson, decided to open a bakery. This marked the beginning of “Puff ‘n Stuff” in Trinidad & Tobago. Later, Susie and her husband, Glenn, fulfilled their dream of moving to the United States with their young family.
Since 1980, Puff ‘n Stuff Catering has built an unsurpassed reputation for service and quality in Central Florida and Florida’s West Coast since 2010. From the smallest intimate dinner parties to corporate functions, grand banquets, barbecues, celebrations, weddings, disaster relief, and venue management, Puff ‘n Stuff Catering provides all of your catering needs with elegance, imagination, and style. With a team of trained and seasoned bartenders, we are equipped to provide full-service bars at any event.
We offer plated meals, interactive chef bars, traditional and hybrid buffets, packaged meals, and butler-passed services. Our extensive experience in both large and small-scale events is not limited to our home-based venues. We have the expertise to handle every detail of the event, from site coordination to rentals, to securing service staff.
How did Puff N Stuff pivot when the pandemic hit and lockdowns began?
Home meals have always been part of our DNA but wasn’t a big focus as events always took center stage. The foundation was in place, we simply needed to take a step back and develop a plan to efficiently prepare and deliver direct to our customer’s homes at an affordable price. We knew our meal delivery options would compete with nationwide meal kit services, prepared grocery store meals, and local delivery, so we focused on differentiating ourselves with truly fresh, seasonal meals delivered weekly to our customer’s homes offering regional delivery service at no additional cost.
This evolved into a new brand, Heirloom by Puff ’n Stuff based on the fundamental idea of getting families back together around the dinner table. These heat and serve fresh meals are prepared in our Orlando and Tampa kitchens then delivered to customer homes regionally, void of delivery fees or minimums. We feature seasonal menus that rotate weekly in family sizes and individual portions. Heirloom’s no-prep offerings launched with everything available through our new web app. Each week, a more interactive meal will feature items like assemble-it-yourself ramen, fajita kits, etc. Our team is excited to see Heirloom grow into a significant part of our business that keeps us closer to our customers and hopefully remove meal prep fatigue and enable families to reconnect.
What are the plans for the future for the company and through Heirloom?
Our initial focus with the Heirloom brand is to focus on perfecting the home meal delivery program. Eventually, we plan to launch a workplace version delivering hot meals, salads, sandwiches, and snacks to offices throughout Central Florida. We also plan for an on-demand service featuring the same meals through the likes of DoorDash, Uber Eats, etc.
What should guests know about Heirloom when ordering?
Our menus change weekly and with the seasons. Everything is prepared fresh without the use of preservatives. We want there to be a little something for everyone, so regardless of the size of your family or whether you like to eat super healthy or prefer something a bit more decadent there should always be something that appeals to you. We hope to become a weekly staple in our communities.
If someone is planning a big family event, what are some recommendations you might have for them?
To always enlist the help of others! For some, that might mean spreading the planning and work out to multiple members of the family but if you’re able to bring in professional help that can definitely make the process so much easier. It’s always best if you can also be a guest at your own party instead of taking on all the responsibility of shopping, prep, cooking, and then clean up. Heirloom provides appetizer and dinner solutions for small gatherings and Puff ‘n Stuff Catering is always available for a more turn key solutions with professional waiters, chefs, and bartenders with supporting rental equipment.
What are the most popular items right now at Heirloom?
Everyone is ALWAYS asking for our chef’s Italian style meatloaf- which we call Polpettone of Beef and serve with Mediterranean Broccoli. Our collaboration with FitLiving Eats has also been extremely popular, Carly Paige, the chef behind those menu items has some great methods for making nutrient-dense food that is also super comforting and delicious. And the delicious cookie dough is always a hit – nothing beats freshly baked cookies right out of the oven!
How was the menu developed?
The menu is a collection of recipes that have been passed down through generations, whether that be through the Dietel’s, Puff ‘n Stuff favorites, or other caterers and businesses in the communities we serve. Of course, we take into account upcoming holidays but seasonality and items that reheat well at home with broad family appeal is our primary focus. We hope to be THE solution for busy families.

Chef Francisco “Chico” Mendonça of Bem Bom Cuisine passed away after a brief battle with cancer this past Saturday May 15 at the age of 57.
Chef Mendonça and his wife Dee founded Bem Bom Food Truck in 2012, featuring some of the best Portuguese food in Orlando.
In 2018, the family opened their brick and mortar location on Corrine Drive in the Audubon Park neighborhood, whipping out some of the best Mexican & Portuguese cuisine in town with dishes like the Prego de Frango Piri-Piri, piri-piri marinated chicken sandwich and whole oven roasted octopus in olive oil.
Chef Chico, who was born in the Azores Islands of Portugal, was masterful in his craft and always happy to share with guests his love for food, drink, and his home in the Azores. His kind spirit will be sorely missed in Central Florida.
