Located in West Orlando at the intersection of Kirkman Road and West Colonial Drive – in the same plaza as Golden Sparkling Supermarket and old favorite Formosan Garden / Teriyaki House (Taiwanese), Mr. Wang’s Sports BBQ may be an odd name for an establishment that does not show many sports games on their TVs – at least not on our visit.
Grilled meat skewers and beer – think of Mr. Wang’s Sports BBQ as a Chinese pub – with some pretty tasty meat skewers. I met some friends here on a recent weekend evening, and thoroughly enjoyed not just the meat and beer, but also the house made pork and chive dumplings. Smashed cucumbers, beef skewers, and grilled squid were also highlights.
The Menu
The owner must be a fan of the anime, One Piece, or perhaps the owner’s son judging by the plethora of One Piece decor at the restaurant. Service is kind of an after thought here, so make sure you aren’t shy about waving down your server to point at the menu for you want. They are open late usually till at least midnight. Check them out soon!
