Chef Hung Huynh to Open POMELO, a Southeast Asian Bar in Orlando’s MIlls 50

Coming Soon Spring 2026

(Orlando, FL) — Chef Hung Huynh, the Top Chef Season 3 winner and current Culinary Director of Mills Market, announces his next venture: Pomelo, a bold new Southeast Asian bar concept opening in Spring 2026 in the heart of Orlando’s Mills 50 District.

Located at 1632 N Mills Avenue (formerly The Twisted Handle, next to Bites & Bubbles in the Fresh Market Plaza), Pomelo will be a laid-back, 2,600-square-foot indoor and outdoor bar offering vibrant Southeast Asian flavors, live-fire cooking, and tropical cocktails in a relaxed, social atmosphere.

With seating for around 100 guests, Pomelo’s large outdoor patio will serve as a lively neighborhood gathering place — complete with seafood towers, bar snacks and shareables, and a Happy Hour program designed for long evenings and late-night hangs.

“When the space became available, what drew us was the large outdoor area,” says Chef Hung. “We envisioned it as the ideal space for socializing — a tropical oasis where people can relax, share great food, and just enjoy themselves.”

Pomelo marks Chef Hung’s first restaurant in Orlando, created in partnership with restaurateur brothers Jimmy and Johnny Tung.

“Chef Hung has played a huge role in shaping Mills Market and we appreciate him so much that we wanted to support him in opening his first restaurant in Orlando. Working at Mills Market for the last year, he’s grown to love the energy and culture of the Mills 50 neighborhood. The menu will be a collection of some of his greatest hits throughout his amazing career,” said Johnny Tung.

As Culinary Director of Mills Market, Chef Hung has been instrumental in shaping the market’s success, including dessert shop Saigon Snow, and Michelin Bib Gourmand-winning Banh Mi Boy, known for their fresh, modern takes on Vietnamese and Southeast Asian favorites. He will continue to lead the culinary vision at Mills Market while bringing his personal heritage and creativity to Pomelo.

Designed as a tropical escape in the middle of Mills 50, Pomelo will blend the energy of a lively bar with the warmth and soul of Southeast Asian cooking — offering everything from fire-grilled seafood to vibrant cocktails inspired by the region’s fruits and spices.

Pomelo will offer surface lot and garage parking, with plans to open Spring 2026. Follow @pomelo.fl on Instagram for updates.
