History of Southeast Steel Appliance Warehouse
In 1940, Irving Lippton opened Southeast Steel as a building supplies store, not in its current location. The original store was located where the Lynx Station currently sits. In the 70s. Southeast Steel moved to 63 West Amelia Street in Downtown Orlando and has been in this same location ever since.
My Lippton, Founder of Southeast Steel worked until he was in his 90’s. One of his secrets to success was Hard work, which included being on time, taking care of customers, and being honest with customers. Mr. Lippton believed in standing by his word and said that they did it when they said they would do something.
Mr. Lippton’s son-in-law Stuart Kimball, who took over as President, and his grandson Spencer Kimball who is the Vice president, are also cut from the same cloth, and both generations believe in hard work and carrying on the customer service model that is rare to find in most businesses nowadays. Stuart [Stu] Kimball started working with his father-in-law and later took over as President and still is to this day. Spencer Kimball joined the family business after completing his Engineering Degree at the University of Florida.
