If you’re looking for a cool spot around I-Drive to grab a drink and a bite, you’re in luck! World-famous ICEBAR Orlando is serving up some debut food items and we got a sneak peak at some of their latest dishes.
Known most famously for their bar area made entirely of ice (its called “ICEBAR”..duh!), ICEBAR Orlando offers a hip nightlife vibe with a unique experience.
Operating since 2008, ICEBAR Orlando is home to the world’s largest permanent icebar, where 70 tons of ice were used to create the atmosphere.
Yup, everything from the sculptures, bar, tables, seats, and even the glasses, are made entirely of ice. Prior to entering, guests have the option to don a fur coat and gloves, which we gladly did, making for a much cozier experience.
The whole venue isn’t made of ice, however. Inside you’ll also find the Fire Lounge, a comfortably energetic (and much more room temperature-y) lounge area where you can sit back, relax, and sip on signature cocktails that are just as ‘gram-worthy as they are delicious. They are even categorized based on whether you’d like them served steaming with dry ice, or topped with fire.
My wife and I sampled one from each category, along with a few of their signature cocktails.
These included the Melon Fizz, the Toasted Coconut Martini, and the Mango Dream. My personal favorite was the Blue Hurricane, a cocktail made of Bacardi Rum, Ketel One Vodka, Bombay Gin, Blue Curaçao, Lemon-lime soda, a splash of sour mix, and topped with a lemon cap filled with 151, then lit on fire by the server upon arrival.
All were delicious, prompting more than one table around us to ask what we ordered.
In addition to their eye catching drinks, The Fire Lounge serves up some excellent food options, with a menu boasting almost 30 food items. We were lucky enough to get a sneak peak at the delicious new selection of appetizers and tapas-style dishes.
Here are a Few of the New Dishes To Try at ICEBAR
The Philly Roll
made with shredded Rib-eye steak, peppers, onions, and provolone cheese wrapped in a wonton wrapper (think Philly cheesesteak in an egg roll).
The BBQ Chicken Flatbread, made with barbecue chicken, bacon, sweet red onion, Monterrey jack cheese, and a healthy drizzle of barbecue sauce and jalapeño ranch dressing.
The Meatball Sliders, 2 generously-sized sliders made of Italian meatballs, marinara, and provolone cheese.
The Caprese Flatbread, made with sweet tri-colored grape tomatoes, fresh basil and mozzarella, and topped with a balsamic reduction.
And lastly, the table favorites:
A taco trio, including:
-Banh Mi Taco, composed of tender chicken, picked vegetables, and spicy mayo.
-Blackened shrimp tacos with salsa
-Chimichurri steak taco (my personal favorite), made with cabbage, cilantro cream, and chimichurri.
