Tasting with Master Sommelier George Miliotes, aimed at wine lovers of all levels.
George Miliotes is one of only about 273 people in the world to hold the prestigious title of Master Sommelier, a credential earned through one of the most rigorous wine examinations globally.
He is best known as the founder of Wine Bar George at Disney Springs in Orlando, where he curates an acclaimed wine list of over 200 selections.
Master Sommeliers are experts not just in tasting and identifying wines, but also in food pairings, service, and the cultural history of winemaking. The title signifies a lifetime of dedication, deep knowledge, and rare skill—making tastings with a Master Sommelier like Miliotes both educational and uniquely memorable.
Each session includes a guided blind tasting of six wines, accompanied by storytelling, education about vineyards and wine regions, plus a shareable charcuterie board in many of the events.
Upcoming events include Learn How to Taste Wine on November 2, 2025; Sparkling Wine: The Art of Sparkling Wine on December 7, 2025; and Grand Cru: An Evening of Grand Cru Wines on February 1, 2026.
Tickets start around $159.30 and typically the event begins at 1 p.m., with doors opening a little earlier. Visit: https://www.drphillipscenter.org/events/tickets/2025/tasting-with-a-master-sommelier-george-miliotes-december/ for more information.
I attended a class recently, and must say that George Miliotes’ wine tasting at Judson’s Live was an incredible experience – truly a master class in wine tasting. It was extremely valuable to learn not just about the different wines, but how to break them down by sight, aroma, origin, age, and taste. Understanding these characteristics gave me a whole new perspective on what makes each wine unique. George made the process approachable and engaging, weaving in stories and knowledge that brought each glass to life. I left feeling more confident, inspired, and with a much deeper appreciation for the art and science of wine tasting. Judson’s Live is also an intimate and beautifully designed space that made the event feel warm, welcoming, and perfect for learning.
