COOK 2011:  A Quick Fire Challenge
Orlando Chefs to Battle for Top Honors
ORLANDO, FL –   Many of Orlando’s top Chefs will be taking “Sunday Funday” to a whole new level by stepping outside of their kitchens and onto South Eola Drive for COOK 2011.  The afternoon event will showcase food and libation samplings from a wide variety of Orlando neighborhood restaurants and includes a fun-filled day of live entertainment combined with a healthy dose of friendly competition.  Those in attendance will indulge in local restaurants specialties and cast  votes for  “People’s Choice” awards in restaurant and cocktail/wine categories.    
At the center of the action is the COOK Quick Fire Challenge which consists of 4 restaurant Chef’s whose names will be drawn, at random, the day of the event.  The competition consists of 3 Quick Fire Challenges with the remaining Chef winning the coveted COOK 2011 Challenge Champion Award and well deserved bragging rights.  
Yigit Pura, the winner and fan favorite on the premier season of BRAVO’s Top Chef Just Desserts will be one of the competition’s celebrity judges along with local Foodie Extraordinaire Scott Joseph, the Human Rights Campaign President Joe Solmonese and Orlando’s very own Mayor Buddy Dyer.
The event will be held Sunday March 27, 2011 from 1:00 p.m. – 5:00 p.m.  In addition to Sundays event, HRC will host a VIP dinner on Saturday, March 26 from 7:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m. at The Mezz, 100 S. Eola Drive.  
Tickets for the Food & Wine Tasting and Quick Fire Challenge are $35 in advance and $45 at the door.  VIP seating is $75 per person.  Tickets for Saturday’s VIP dinner only are $150.  Tickets for both the Quick Fire Challenge and the VIP dinner are $200 per person.  All proceeds will benefit the Human Rights Campaign’s programs to advance equality for LGBT people around the country.  Sponsorship opportunities and limited restaurant participation are still available.
