The Festival of Chocolate took place just this past weekend at the Orlando Science Center. It was a huge event with dozens of chocolatiers and thousands of chocolate lovers in attendance. In addition to all the different chocolate cup cakes, chocolate cake, chocolate cotton candy, chocolate this and that and more, there was also an interesting exhibit about the history of chocolate (via the cacao bean and the spanish conquistadors in Latin America) and the production of chocolate from the cacao bean. I had a great time and thought it was a good fun time for the family, although I wish there was more free chocolate! 🙁
My favorite item from the Festival of Chocolate had to be the red velvet cupcake from The Sugar Suite, a local bakery here in Orlando that does special events like weddings and parties too. I found the red velvet cake to be very rich, moist, and overall scrumptious!
