There’s been a lot of buzz lately since the release of the new Avengers film where Iron Man, played by Robert Downey, Jr. gets the gang to try shawarma at the end of the film.
What is Shawarma?
Shawarma is a popular Arab meat preparation, where goat, lamb, chicken, beef, or mixed meats are placed on a spit and grilled and can be served in shavings on a plate or as a pita bread sandwich or wrap made with shawarma meat. Shawarma is eaten with tabbouleh, fattoush, taboon bread, tomato, and cucumber. Toppings include tahini, hummus, pickled turnips and amba.

First, thanks for making this blog.
Second, there are Shwarms and then there are Shwarmas. The ones I try to find use real lamb, sliced and marinated and stacked (see the enchanting Shoarma Papa video), NOT the chopped, pressed, formed and extruded industrial lamb-analog cylinders (see the 2nd picture in the entry above for an example).
In the USA, from one end to the other, it is easy to find gigantic extruded shwarma sandwiches and for what they are, they can be pretty tasty. It’s harder to find a vendor using high quality lamb and making smaller, more expensive shwarmas. Are there any of these guys operating in Orlando?
