Located on the southern shore of Lake Apopka, the historic, boutique B&B inn Oakland Manor House is situated between Winter Garden and Clermont, Florida. The inn is owned by Cynthia Schultz (who also serves as executive chef and resident innkeeper of the establishment) and Dr. Charlotte Charfen (medical director of the establishment).
The West Orange Trail runs through the Manor Houses’s neighborhood to nearby Winter Garden and its popular Saturday Farmer’s Market, restaurants, brewery, and music venues and to the west, to the Oakland Nature Preserve and beyond.
In addition to being an inn, the five-bedroom Oakland Manor House, built in the early 1900s, has a focus on health and wellness programs, providing a space for retreats, yoga and health classes, meditation, performances, art and more to the community. There is also availabilities to host small weddings and business conferences at the House.
Each of the five bedrooms has a private bathroom, and each room has its own theme, such as the Peacock Room, the Mermaid Room and the Speakeasy.
In the hallways, you can find local art, some centered around the themes of food and eating on display.
Chef Daniel Orr, a 2015 James Beard semifinalist, & Kelly Jo Baute, PhD recently hosted one-day culinary inspired wellness retreats based on their book, The Wellness Lifestyle, at the Oakland Manor House. Guests were able to enjoy yoga and wellness lectures from Kelly Jo as Chef Orr created recipes from the book for guests to enjoy.
Overall, the historic Oakland Manor House is truly a hidden gem with a rich history and a great program focused on health and well-being, for those seeking nourishment opportunities for the body, heart, and mind.
